Damage and needs assessments in emergencies

The FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department has just released Guidelines for the fisheries and aquaculture sector on damage and needs assessments in emergencies providing advice and a structure for assessing the requirements of
relief and rehabilitation following an emergency.
The Guidelines are aimed at those people who participate in post-disaster
needs assessment at the country level. They are already being used to help determine the damage and losses following Typhoon Haiyan which hit the Philiippines last month.
