WTO dispute panel established to rule on Chinese farm import quotas

At its meeting on 22 September, the WTO’s Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) agreed to establish a panel to rule on a complaint filed by the United States regarding China’s administration of its tariff rate quotas (TRQs) for certain imported farm goods. The DSB also formally adopted the panel report, as amended by the Appellate Body, in the European Union’s challenge to tax breaks offered by the US state of Washington to the aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
