Transparency remains a central focus at subsidies committee discussions

At a meeting of the Committee on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (SCM) held on 29 April, the Chair, Dr Wolfram Spelten (Germany), reiterated the importance of transparency for the effective operation of the SCM Agreement. He expressed continued concern over the low rates at which WTO members are meeting subsidy notification obligations and urged members to submit their pending notifications promptly.
