Trade and investment are increasingly important development issues – DG Azevêdo

Given the growing interconnectedness between trade and investment flows, efforts to expand global trade are increasingly related to expanding global investment as well, particularly in developing countries, Director-General Roberto Azevêdo told a workshop organized at the WTO by the governments of Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Australia (MIKTA) on 20 March 2017. “An open and informed dialogue is a useful initiative if members wish to consider putting more focus on these issues at the WTO”, DG Azevêdo said.
