PERU – Integrated Forest Landscape Management Project in Atalaya, Ucayali

WASHINGTON, January 4, 2019 – The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:PERU –Integrated Forest Landscape Management Project in Atalaya, UcayaliStrategic Climate Fund (SCF) Loan: US $6.4 million equivalentTerms: Maturity = 40 years, Grace = 10 yearsProject ID: P163023Project Description: The project will strengthen sustainable management and use of forest landscapes in the Raimondi, Sepahua and Tahuanía districts of the Atalaya province. The project will support the demarcation and titling of native communities’ lands; the development of land use plans to promote forest conservation; and the strengthening of relevant national and local environmental agencies. The project will also finance technical assistance and incentive grants for the development and implementation of native community investment plans that support indigenous communities and small forest users in sustainably managing forest.
