WASHINGTON, May 2, 2017 – The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project: Nicaragua Catastrophe Risk Insurance Project IDA Credit: US $12 million equivalent Terms: Maturity = 40 years, Grace = 10 years Project ID: P149895 Project Description: The revised project development objective is to enable the access of Nicaragua to efficient sovereign risk insurance to better respond to geophysical events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and landslides; and climate-related events, including tropical cyclones and excess rainfall.
