Food for Lunch series returns with a focus on disaster preparation

30 Apr 2026

The Secretariat’s Food for Lunch webinar series returns in May with a focus on disaster preparedness. This round of midday discussions will begin on Friday, 8 May, under the theme ‘Be Ready for the Storm: Caribbean Hurricane Preparedness 2026’.

Food for Lunch is one of the activities organised by the Secretariat and its partners as part of the 25 by 2025+5 Initiative. As a knowledge-sharing, collaborative exchange, the webinar series places the spotlight on sustainable agriculture and food and nutrition security in CARICOM.

The hour-long discussion on 8 May will focus on crops and assets. On 15 May, the discourse will centre on livestock and assets, while fisheries and assets will be the subject of the webinar on 22 May. The final session on 29 May will address disaster response and recovery.

Farmers, fishers, processors, extension officers, technicians in the agriculture sector, other agriculture stakeholders and the public are encouraged to register and participate in the sessions. Spread the word!
We invite you to view the carousel below that takes us through the years from the inception of the webinar series in 2023.
