Azevêdo: Parliamentarians play a particularly important role in the work of the WTO

It is through you, as parliamentarians, that we hear the voices of the people that we are here to serve, said Director-General Roberto Azevêdo in an address to the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade in Brussels on 20 June. He highlighted that the WTO has developed a strong partnership with the European Parliament over the years and looked forward to continued engagement and partnership to “help ensure that the global trading system is truly inclusive and responsive to people’s needs”.
