{"id":81613,"date":"2022-01-06T20:09:08","date_gmt":"2022-01-06T20:09:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bahamastradeinfo.gov.bs\/buy\/?p=81613"},"modified":"2022-01-06T20:09:08","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T20:09:08","slug":"agreement-with-international-chamber-of-commerce-to-deepen-support-for-small-businesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bahamastradeinfo.gov.bs\/buy\/2022\/01\/06\/agreement-with-international-chamber-of-commerce-to-deepen-support-for-small-businesses\/","title":{"rendered":"Agreement with International Chamber of Commerce to deepen support for small businesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_190660\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-190660\" class=\"wp-image-190660 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bahamastradeinfo.gov.bs\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/thumbnail_4R7A1643-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"Pamela Coke-Hamilton and John Denton\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-190660\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Pamela Coke-Hamilton, the Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC), and John Denton, the Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Pamela Coke-Hamilton, the Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC), and John Denton, the Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will benefit the two organizations\u2019 collaboration on supporting small businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The new partnership will look at well-established topics to advance the trade competitiveness of small businesses, especially those owned by women.<\/p>\n<p>This signature follows consultations held since June of this year that map ITC\u2019s and ICC\u2019s various areas of work, their solutions and tools, focusing on the following core areas: joint advocacy, competitiveness, women\u2019s economic empowerment, youth entrepreneurship, sustainability and the circular economy.<\/p>\n<p>In more detail, the cooperation looks at these identified key actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improve the access of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises to trade and market intelligence, through ITC market intelligence tools, and ICC entrepreneurship centres.<\/li>\n<li>Enhance the performance of business support organizations including chambers of commerce, through trainings and advisory services on skills, digitalization, the new ITC benchmarking platform, and joint technical publications.<\/li>\n<li>Help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises mitigate climate change and engage them as key drivers of green trade, through joint awareness raising campaigns, advocacy events, and e-learning.<\/li>\n<li>Support women entrepreneurship and promote gender equality, through joint awareness raising campaigns on gender mainstreaming drawing on ITC\u2019s SheTrades initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Promote youth entrepreneurship via ICC entrepreneurship centres in selected countries, for instance through joint virtual learning spaces and linkages to the ITC Ye!
