FITCE presented a unique opportunity to engage high level leaders<\/h3>\n

The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC) led a group of business persons to the Florida International Trade & Cultural Expo (FITCE) from October 8th \u2013 11th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Charo R. Walker-Morley, Trade Services Manager at the BCCEC, organized and led the delegation.<\/p>\n

This fifth edition of FITCE once again welcomed local and international companies to the Greater Fort Lauderdale\/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a unique opportunity to engage high level government leaders, international trade experts and delegations from around the world to participate in dialogues relating to international trade, foreign direct investment, and culture.<\/p>\n

Bahamian companies that participated in FITCE included Kyle & Kay Designs, Community Pharmacy, Treasures by The Sea, Bahamas Air, and Cable Bahamas, among many others.<\/p>\n

Ava Rodland, Project Manager at the Ministry of Financial Services, Trade and Industry, and Immigration participates in a Panel Discussion <\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The two-day event began with an Opening Ceremony followed by workshop sessions on trade-related topics such as \u201c11 Steps to Exporting \u2013 A Roadmap to Your Exporting Success!\u201d, \u201cHow to Bring Your Business to the USA\u201d, and \u201cWorld Leaders and Former Presidents Panel: Opening Horizons to New Market Opportunities\u201d. Ava Rodland, Project Manager at the Ministry of Financial Services, Trade and Industry, and Immigration, represented The Bahamas during a \u201cDoing Business with the Caribbean\u201d panel discussion.<\/p>\n

Participating companies were able to showcase their products and network<\/h3>\n

Throughout each day companies participating in the World Expo Marketplace & Cultural Art Exhibit were able to showcase their products, get contact information for future engagement, and network with buyers. Networking receptions which were held at the end of each day facilitated further exchange.<\/p>\n

The Expo workshops ended with a \u2018Speed Matchmaking\u2019 session which is designed to encourage interaction amongst countries and businesses to spur potential business and international trade opportunities. Persons interested in doing business with The Bahamas were able to speak with country representatives, pitch their ideas, and exchange business cards.<\/p>\n

FITCE attracts over 1,500 attendees including approximately 250 international businesses and approximately 1,250 local businesses, multi-cultural global trade representatives from over 63 countries, federal, state and local trade agencies, and government leaders from around the world.<\/p>\n
